چکیده

A bipyridiyl-oxazoline cobalt catalyst tBuBPOCoCl2 has been developed for the Markovnikov selective hydroboration of alkenes using pinacolborane and NaOtBu as the in situ activator with up to >98 : 2 branched : linear selectivity (24 examples, 45-92% isolated yield).

Palladium-catalyzed synthesis of terminal acetals via highly selective anti-Markovnikov nucleophilic attack of pinacol on vinylarenes, allyl ethers, and 1,5-dienes.

A palladium-catalyzed reaction of vinylarenes, allyl ethers, and 1,5-dienes with pinacol proceeded via a selective anti-Markovnikov nucleophilic attack to afford corresponding terminal acetals as major products. The bulkiness of pinacol was found to be critical in controlling the regioselectivity.

Asymmetric Copper Hydride-Catalyzed Markovnikov Hydrosilylation of Vinylarenes and Vinyl Heterocycles

We report a highly enantioselective CuH-catalyzed Markovnikov hydrosilylation of vinylarenes and vinyl heterocycles. This method has a broad scope and enables both the synthesis of isolable silanes and the conversion of crude products to chiral alcohols. Density functional theory calculations support a mechanism proceeding by hydrocupration followed by σ-bond metathesis with a hydrosilane.

Enantioselective Rhodium(III)-Catalyzed Markovnikov Hydroboration of Unactivated Terminal Alkenes

We report the first enantioselective Rh-catalyzed Markovnikov hydroboration of unactivated terminal alkenes. Using a novel sp2-sp3 hybridized diboron reagent and water as a proton source, a broad range of alkenes undergo hydroboration to provide secondary boronic esters with high regio- and enantiocontrol.

Development of catalysts for the hydroamination of olefins*

Studies on the development of palladium, nickel, and rhodium catalysts for the hydroamination of dienes and vinylarenes are described. Enantioselective catalysts based on palladium have been developed for the addition of arylamines to dienes and for Markovnikov addition of arylamines to vinylarenes. In addition, nickel catalysts for the addition of aliphatic amines to dienes have been developed...

Anti-Markovnikov hydroamination and hydrothiolation of electron-deficient vinylarenes catalyzed by well-defined monomeric copper(I) amido and thiolate complexes.

Monomeric Cu(I) amido and thiolate complexes that are supported by the N-heterocyclic carbene ligand 1,3-bis(2,6-diisopropylphenyl)imidazol-2-ylidene (IPr) catalyze the hydroamination and hydrothiolation of electron-deficient vinylarenes with reactivity patterns that are consistent with an intermolecular nucleophilic addition of the amido/thiolate ligand of (IPr)Cu(XR) (X = NH or S; R = Ph, CH2...
